Sports Centre Decarbonisation

Decarbonisation Project at Wellington Sports Centre

As part of a major decarbonisation initiative, we were appointed to upgrade Wellington Sports Centre, implementing a series of energy-efficient improvements to future-proof the facility. This project focused on reducing carbon emissions, improving energy performance, and enhancing comfort for visitors through advanced building upgrades.

By integrating low-carbon heating systems, renewable energy solutions, and enhanced insulation, we have significantly improved the centre’s energy efficiency and sustainability, ensuring it continues to serve the local community while aligning with the UK’s net-zero carbon goals

The works included

  • Low carbon heating replacement – upgrading heating systems to energy-efficient alternatives, reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
  • Air handling unit replacements – enhancing ventilation and air quality for improved user experience and energy efficiency.
  • Solar PV installation – harnessing renewable energy to reduce the facility’s carbon footprint and operational costs.
  • Glazing and door replacements – improving insulation and thermal efficiency to support overall energy conservation.
  • Re-roofing and insulation upgrades – enhancing building performance and heat retention to minimize energy waste.
